Country superstar Taylor Swift has donated US$100,000 to build a new playground in the town where she went to school.
The money will help rebuild the facility destroyed by floods earlier this year in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
“It’s overwhelming,” the director of the city’s parks, Dave LeMarbre, told the Hendersonville Star-News. “We didn’t expect that. We appreciate Taylor’s donation as well as all the others who have stepped up.”
The playground is expected to cost $175,000.
