AB Weddings & Special Events is hosting the first Masquerade Ball to benefit Reading, Writing, It’s Exciting at SideBar in Glendale, CA on Saturday March 26, 2011, from 7-9pm at 1114 North Pacific Avenue.
Special celebrity host for the event will be Sean Kanan. This event will include celebrities, press, media, gift bags and auction items donated by celebrities, local artists and businesses. The purpose of Reading, Writing, It’s Exciting! is to mentor kids in Los Angeles in writing and reading. They work closely with schools, so that teachers hand pick the students who need our help the most. Each year, Reading, Writing, It’s Exciting!:
• Teaches children how to write a story with their own ideas
• Brings out the creativity in kids with fun imagination games
• Provides mentors to help children write their own stories
• Helps children read their story out loud in front of a group
• Gives kids the opportunity to read their own creative stories in front their families and friends at a bookstore.
At the end of the school year, they also provide the students of Reading, Writing, It’s Exciting!, and any of their classmates, the opportunity to perform stories they’ve written during the year at a Barnes & Noble. Following their performance, they’ll get to watch as actors bring their stories to life!
