Fergie celebrated her birthday on Sunday by joining her husband – actor Josh Duhamel – for his celebrity charity run for Japan.

The star-studded event saw over 4000 runners pay $10 to take part in the 2 mile run along the Santa Monica beach, with Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Dianna Agron, Teresa Palmer and many others taking part.

“If you’re like me, you’ve seen the pain and suffering going on in Japan right now and really feel the need to help… to physically help,” said Josh prior to the run. In January 2010, the star organized a similar run to benefit Haiti.

Proceeds from Sunday’s Tokidoki Youth Relief Run went to the Red Cross' efforts in Japan. Josh Duhamel has a long history of supporting the American Red Cross and has taken the Santa Monica chapter under his wing. The American Red Cross of Santa Monica, is a publicly supported, 501©(3) nonprofit corporation that provides health and safety education, youth services, blood services, CPR and first aid training, disaster awareness and disaster relief efforts.

Additionally, sponsor PUMA is taking an active role in supporting relief efforts. Aside from supporting Duhamel and the Red Cross’ efforts in Japan by making a donation of footwear that will be sent directly to those adversely affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, they, along with its parent organization, PPR, have donated 2 Million Euros (3.5 million US dollars) on behalf of the Group and its brands via the Japanese Red Cross. Plus, PUMA and PPR, will also match donations made by any of its employees to relief efforts in Japan.
