Singer, actress and expectant mother Jewel partnered with Bravado! Designs today to donate 2,600 nursing bras and tank tops to their long time charity partner Baby Buggy, a non-profit organization that provides families in need across the country with essential equipment, products, clothing, and educational services for their infants and children up to age 12.

The bras and tops will be distributed to new moms served by Baby Buggy’s partner program, Nurse-Family Partnership, in both Dallas and New York City.

Even though she is busy planning for the new addition to her family, Jewel wanted to make a difference in the lives of at-risk mothers in her home state of Texas. By donating these Bravado! bras and tank tops, Jewel will help keep new moms and babies in the Dallas area healthy by providing the tools to make breastfeeding a possibility.

“Thank you to Bravado! Designs for partnering with me to donate over 2,600 nursing bras to mothers in need through the extraordinary work of Baby Buggy,” said Jewel. “This is an un-paralleled opportunity and honor to play such a meaningful role in the lives of other new mothers, and help to assure that all women get the products and care they need for themselves and the next generation. Bravado! Designs and Baby Buggy have given me the tools to make a real difference in the lives of other new mothers. Through this affiliation, I am able to provide quality products and necessary services to support at-risk mothers who struggle to provide the best possible future for their babies.”

“This is a classic example of how a philanthropic partnership should work: a generous donor, a terrific corporate partner to help the people who need it most, and the opportunity to make a real difference in a community,” said Jessica Seinfeld, Founder of Baby Buggy. “Bravado! and Jewel are a model for how Baby Buggy works best, and through this donation, we will reach mothers in need in the Dallas area who wouldn’t typically have access to these products, as well as aid the invaluable work of our partner site, Nurse-Family Partnership. We are extremely grateful for Jewel’s and Bravado!’s support of our programs.”

Nurse-Family Partnership is a community health organization dedicated to providing low-income first-time moms with the products and education they need through ongoing home visits with registered nurses. Baby Buggy has partnered with Parkland’s Nurse Family Partnership program since 2010, and the program’s 300 moms and infants have been the beneficiary of more than $20,000 in goods.

As Barbara Beaty, RN, MS, and Case Management Manager of the Dallas NFP says, “The generous donation of the Bravado! items from Jewel and Baby Buggy will serve countless women in the Dallas community. We are so appreciative of their dedication to give back to those who are less fortunate. Our clients will be beaming when they receive these items, especially knowing that they came from one new mom to another. We wish Jewel all the best and are excited for her to welcome her son into the world!”
