UCLA Neurosurgery will tonight host the Visionary Ball 2011, with guests including Michael Caine and John Stamos.

Honorees of the event will include Jones Apparel Group chairman Sidney Kimmel, whose Foundation for Cancer Research has supported the work of countless researchers and physicians fighting the battle against cancer, as well as Bob Saget, Dr Louis J. Ignarro and choreographer and brain tumor survivor Doriana Sanchez.

The inaugural Visionary Ball was held in 2005 to celebrate patient successes and provide guests with a first-hand view of innovative technologies used by UCLA neurosurgeons. The Department has been fortunate to welcome local celebrities as performers and honorees, including Jay Leno, Jim Carrey and Jamie Lee Curtis. Since the first Ball, this stunning event has been held bi-annually in 2007 and 2009, and is now an annual occasion.

The faculty members of UCLA Neurosurgery are committed to providing the finest and most comprehensive patient care through innovative clinical programs in minimally invasive brain and spinal surgery, neuroendoscopy, neuro-oncology for both adult and pediatric brain tumors, cerebrovascular surgery, stereotactic radiosurgery for brain and spinal disorders, surgery for movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, and epilepsy surgery.

The event takes place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, 9500 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills at 6pm tonight, October 6. More information can be found here.
