The Andy Roddick Foundation (ARF) will host its inaugural celebrity golf tournament April 14-15, 2013 in Austin Texas.

The tournament will take place at the Spanish Oaks Golf Club, lauded by Golf Digest as one of the top courses in Texas.

Many of Andy Roddick's friends – professional athletes as well as entertainers – as well as other high profile personalities will participate in the event.

“I’ve been fortunate to work with a lot of great performers and athletes over the years, and we’ve been able to support each others’ efforts to make a difference in our respective communities. I’m looking forward to many of them joining me in Austin for this first-ever event,” Roddick said.

Amateur golfers of all skill levels are invited to compete in a four-person scramble format. This annual 18-hole golf classic will feature a variety of games and competitions, including longest drive and closest-to-the-pin contests as well as a silent auction and raffle. The kick-off party will feature the 1980s cover band Spazmatics on April 14, and the tournament will begin with a 10 a.m. shotgun start on Monday, April 15.

Roddick, who recently announced his retirement from tennis, is now spearheading ARF’s new growth strategy with the foundation’s CEO, Jeff Lau. “We’re really excited about hosting the first-ever golf tournament to support the foundation’s efforts to help underserved youth learn lessons in character and leadership,” said Lau.

In 2000, Roddick established ARF to make a difference in the lives of youth in underserved communities, and in 2004 was awarded the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award for his charity efforts.
