Anastasia’s passion for public speaking and English has inspired her to partake in many different extracurriculars. From the Wellington Youth Reporter for JGINZ in 2019 to being a finalist in the United Nations Association New Zealand regional speech competition, Anastasia is always partaking in and trying new experiences. The school she currently attends, Wellington East Girls College, has helped her broaden her experiences and offered her a range of different opportunities. The school provided her with the opportunity of being apart of a range of clubs and committees, such as music committee and events committee as well as being apart of the school’s STEM Club and completing her Silver Duke of Edinborough award. Aside from her passion for academia in her spare time she enjoys playing and making music by herself and with friends and family. She is the first chair in the second violins in the Wellington Youth Symphonietta Orchestra, she plays the piano and she sings in her school’s choirs, Cantala and Multi Choir, and she is a soprano 2 in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Choir. Currently, she is preparing for her recital under the Young Musician Programme at the New Zealand School of Music and her school’s production of Chicago. In early October she will be competing in the New Zealand Young Physicist Regional Tournament, sitting her grade 7 violin exam, sitting her grade 6 singing exam and grade 6 theory exam, as well as her school exams at the end of the year.
