The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation is conducting an online Auction of Astronaut Experiences and Memorabilia. The auction is open now and will close April 18, 2009, at 5:00 PM EDT. All proceeds from this auction will directly benefit high achieving engineering and science students.

Bidders have the opportunity to win astronaut autographs as well as artifacts that flew in outer space and to the surface of the moon. Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and John Glenn are three of fifty astronauts who have donated items to the auction.

John Glenn has donated a considerable amount of his time to the auction. One lucky bidder will have the opportunity to eat lunch with Glenn and listen as the world’s oldest man to go into space shares his legendary stories of cosmic travel.

Every year, The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation awards nineteen $10,000 scholarships to hard working students. To date, the foundation has awarded $2.6 million to deserving students nationwide.
