Miley Cyrus is supporting a ban on carriage horses in NYC, and her Mom is right behind her.

“Miley grew up around animals and with all our horses growing up, so she is very passionate about protecting all animals,” Tish Cyrus told E! News.

Tish explained that they have been supporting a petition to ban horse-drawn carriages in NYC, which has now reached 100,000 signatures.

“Miley’s fans have been amazing,” she said. “We were trying to reach at least 100,000 people signing the petition and, after Miley tweeted, her fans got us 6,000 signatures in a few hours and pushed us over. We couldn’t have done it without all her fans.”

According to the organizers of the petition: “Horses do not belong in a congested, urban setting where they constantly breathe exhaust in dangerous traffic. There have been more than 18 accidents in the past two years. The horses live in tiny stable stalls, with no access to green pastures.”

“You all made my mama and all the horses so happy :) my fans really do come in handy,” tweeted Miley.
