Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) will hold its Third Annual Walk and Play L.A. presented by Disney on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Exposition Park.

“Walk and Play L.A. is an exciting way for our community to unite and kick off the summer while positively impacting the health of children,” says Children’s Hospital Los Angeles President and Chief Executive Officer Paul S. Viviano. “The money raised will ensure our patients receive the lifesaving and critical care they need.”

The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with check-in and the family festival, which includes music and games. Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner and his wife Kourtney are honorary event hosts. Turner will join representatives from the Los Angeles Chargers, the L.A. Kings and the Ontario Fury in leading fun activities for kids ages 4-12. ABC7 Eyewitness News anchor Coleen Sullivan will serve as the morning’s master of ceremonies.

At 9:30 a.m., walkers will embark on a 3K course that circles around the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Exposition Park, past the giant-but-friendly dinosaur at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, and the walk will conclude at the family festival area. Once there, Disney VoluntEARS will assist visitors at the Disney, ESPN Los Angeles and ABC7 interactive booths. There will also be live entertainment from Radio Disney performers, musical artist Camryn, DJ Dense of the Los Angeles Clippers, School of Rock, and more. A designated area will be available for participants who would like to bring their own picnics to the event.

Registration is open to individuals and teams consisting of friends, families and organizations at www.walkandplayla.org. As an incentive for participants to meet and exceed their individual fundraising goals, prizes will be awarded at various dollar amount levels.

Donors may choose to support any of 350 specialty programs and services at CHLA to help support or they may choose to provide general support to ensure that CHLA is able to provide critical, lifesaving care to patients.

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is one of the top pediatric academic medical and research institutions in the United States and relies on the generosity of community support. Each and every gift to CHLA helps the hospital provide care to patients from not only the Los Angeles area, but from all 50 states and more than 25 countries around the world.
