Jay-Z is planning to bring his restaurant franchise to London next year to benefit charity.

The rapper will join with footballer Ashley Cole in a number of ventures, including the opening of a 40/40 restaurant and bar. The franchise has already been popular in New York, Las Vegas and Atlantic City, and will see a percentage of profits go to music and sport charities in deprived communities. The initiative will also give first option on jobs to unemployed young people.

“I am delighted to be working with Jay Z,” said Cole. “I have grown up listening to his music and now to be doing business with him is amazing – and the projects we do will be delivering much needed funds back into sport and music on a local community level, as well as helping talented young people get back to work.”

The restaurant is expected to open next year.
