On Saturday, October 1, Annie Lennox made a special appearance at the Cash For Kids Ball at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow to help raise money for vulnerable children in the west of Scotland.

Annie performed seven songs live at the piano (Legend In My Living Room, Little Bird, Here Comes The Rain Again, There Must Be An Angel, No More I Love Yous, Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves, and Sweet Dreams). The event raised £352,000, a record amount.

Lord McConnell, chairman of the board of trustees of Cash for Kids, said: “Annie’s generosity in agreeing to perform was reflected in the compassion shown by everyone who attended the event and who helped raise such a significant amount for Cash for Kids. That money will go directly and quickly to support thousands of vulnerable children in the west of Scotland.”

“Annie’s work as a charity campaigner is known across the world and we can’t thank her enough for giving up her valuable time to support the essential work of Cash for Kids. It was an honor to welcome her and an honor to listen to her wonderful and unforgettable voice.”

Set up in 1980, Cash for Kids has raised more than £22 million and helped more than 1.7 million deprived children.

Lord McConnell said: “As the winter months loom it is vital that work to support deprived children continues. Thousands of children in the west of Scotland need help with many things that most people take for granted at this time of year like winter coats and hot food.”
