College drop-out turned technology super-star Bill Gates announced that over the next two years he will withdraw from his daily role at Microsoft in order to dedicate himself full-time to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

At 50, Gates is currently the world’s richest man, with a personal
worth estimated at $50 billion. The $30 billion Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation focuses on health and education charities.

The Microsoft founder is one of many philanthropists helping others using wealth gained quickly through the technology boom.

Fellow Microsoft pioneer, Paul Allen, awards nearly $30 million in grants every year through a charitable fund he created.

Other big players include eBay creator Pierre Omidya, who
created a $400 million fund to aid development in poverty-stricken countries, and Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, who have dedicated $1 billion to fighting poverty and helping energy consumption.

Hello from powerty stricken Bulgaria. My name is Ms. Vili Boyadjiev. I am over 50 year old, a USA citizen, just resently back to Bulgaria. What I am observing here, in regard to all abandoned children, the orphanige houses, kept in terrible shape, where children are in the same diapers for days at the time, the childrens abuse, all this just brakes my hearth. It is amazing that the Government here takes little, or no care of those children, in most cases does absolutely nothing for them. What is happening with teenagers in Bulgaria is a subject that I am so sad, and so ashemed to touch - with no care at all from the system, prostitution, alcohol and drugs abuse is scyroketing and it's normalcy here. No wonder, nobody cares, nobody pays attention to them, teachers are in strike for two months and that... in the beginning of the school year, Bulgarian youth is in desperate need of help, in need of care, in need of involvement! Bulgarian people in general are in desperate need of help, cloathing, food, etc! I would like to try and help them, and for that reason I could use your Foundation guide and help. Please, if there is any way, help me to help them. Maybe I could become your foundation advocate for the needy and the poor Bulgarian people.
