Jackie Chan has released a special message after a violent week around the world.

“Today is a very sad and solemn day for everyone in the world,” he wrote on his official website. "When I heard the heartbreaking news about all the little angels – the 22 students from YuanChuan Elementary school in the village of Chengping, Guangshan county, Henan, China who were brutally stabbed. And in America, the 20 children and 6 adults from Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut USA who were shot and killed.

“What’s happening to the world? I am deeply saddened by what has happened; I just don’t know what to say. I hope the children in Heaven rest in peace.”
