Ellen DeGeneres On Why She Supports Farm Sanctuary

In a short video clip, comedian Ellen DeGeneres gives credit to Farm Sanctuary for its public awareness campaigns about animal factory farms, as well as for its farm animal rescue efforts.

“Farm Sanctuary shows the world that animals are not only beautiful and gentle,” says DeGeneres, “but that they’re also individuals with unique personalities and wills to live. On today’s factory farms, the animals are hidden from public view. That’s why Farm Sanctuary’s role in telling their stories is so important and so powerful.”

Besides promoting awareness about the cruel treatment of animals on industrialised farms, Farm Sanctuary also advocates for laws and institutional reforms to prevent the greatest abuses. Additionally, they take in animals from factory farms and care for them at three farm sanctuaries in the US.

“At Farm Sanctuary, animals who have suffered find love and kindness, often for the first time,” says DeGeneres. “The animals are transformed and so are we.”
