Elton John and Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu penned an op-ed published on CNN.com about the United Nations’ 2016 High Level Meeting on Ending AIDS to be held this month.

In the article, they urge global leaders to actively engage in this important meeting and secure an agreement that will bring about the end of the AIDS epidemic worldwide by 2030.

“This is not a time to coast or move on but to focus and accelerate. Those on the frontlines of this epidemic and their allies around the world know exactly what we need to do and are well on the path to getting it done. But more will and wallet remain essential,” state Elton and Archbishop Tutu. “We have come too far, we are too close to the end and there is far too much at stake.”
