Two stars from Aussie soap Home And Away have announced their goal to raise AUS$200,000 for an orphanage in Cambodia.

Rebecca Breeds and Luke Mitchell will host a fundraising dinner and auction in Sydney on December 10.

“Your heart goes out to them,” Rebecca told The Sunday Telegraph. "The place needs to be rebuilt and it needs help to be rebuilt.

“The sex trade is something that has flared up as a result of the country being so vulnerable and people are taking advantage of that. At the orphanage, there are girls as young as four who were almost sold into that industry.”

The event – Christmas For The Kids – will take place at Sydney’s Bayview Boulevard Hotel.

“Seeing what it’s like for these kids is a humbling experience… in our industry, we’re lucky to be in the position we’re in, so if we can do something, we should,” says Luke. “We’d never done anything like this, but we thought, ’Let’s just do it, let’s at least try’.”
