A number of teen celebrities – including Justin Tinucci (Goat Island w/ Val Kilmer), Kayla Tinucci (iCarly), Malyssa Martinez (California Dream Project), Bryce Hitchcock (Special Agent Oso) and Austin Anderson (Victorious) have announced plans to host a red carpet event in order to collect donations for the “Cinderella and Prince Charming Project”.

Organized by these teen entertainers, the Red Carpet Extravaganza aims to help gather the formal dresses, suits, and accessories needed for underprivileged youth for their proms and graduations. The event will be held on Saturday, April 21st 2012 at 11 am at the Chick-fil-A Northridge location and will feature a number of celebrities signing autographs, food, entertainment and fun activities in addition to a mobile video game party bus sponsored by Video Game Parties2U. For every suit or dress donated at their restaurant during the April 21st event, Chick-fil-A (Northridge location only) will provide a coupon for a free sandwich at their store.

The Cinderella and Prince Charming Project 2012 is devoted to helping underprivileged teens who aren’t able to afford formal attire for their prom or graduation, by transforming them into princes and princesses through efforts to collect everything that these teens will need for these coming of age events. All clothing, accessory and makeup donations will benefit the underprivileged youth who are served by A Place Called Home. Although formal and semi-formal dresses (prom, evening, cocktail, bridesmaid) are obviously requested, other donated items needed include:

  • Plus-sized formal and semi-formal dresses
  • Accessories for ladies (jewelry, evening bags, shawls, scarves)
  • New Makeup
  • Suits and dress shirts for guys
  • Dressy shoes for girls (especially sizes 8.5-10)
  • Accessories for boys (dress shoes, ties, belts)

All clothing must be new or gently used and dry cleaned! Please bring items on hangers if possible!

Prom and graduation are among the most celebrated and traditional teen experiences, but as the cost of end of the year high school events rise, many teens are left out. A Place Called Home helps teens from South Central by providing a safe haven where underprivileged youth are empowered to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives. Through programs in education, arts, and well being, the teens at A Place Called Home are inspired to make a meaningful difference in their community and the world. The Cinderella and Prince Charming Project Red Carpet Extravaganza Event will be hostedby teen celebrities Justin and Kayla Tinucci, Malyssa Martinez, Bryce Hitchcock and Austin Anderson with the support of Chick-fil-A Northridge, A Place Called Home, and Five-Star PR, all of whom intend to help alleviate the financial strain of those underprivileged youth attending these events, while aiming to leave no teen left out.

Teen actor Justin Tinucci commented, “I am so excited to be able to help organize this event for such an amazing cause. It’s such a great feeling to be able to help make a difference in the lives of all the kids at A Place Called Home and I am really looking forward to the opportunity to spend more time getting to know all of them this summer.”
