Jackie Chan has made a special statement urging his fans to donate to victims of the devastating tsunami in Japan.

“The earthquake in Japan was a devastating disaster and I want the Japanese people to know that my thoughts are with them,” he said. "We all need to do everything we can to help and support the Red Cross and other relief organizations and to pray that the Japanese people will heal quickly from the emotional, physical, and economic devastation."

The action star has also pledged his support for victims, and is currently organizing an exciting new charity initiative to raise money for those affected by the disaster.

“I have already begun to plan a special way to raise money for the Japanese people and will let you know what this is as soon as the details are arranged. For now, I encourage all my fans to pray for Japan and to support organizations such as the Red Cross.”
