Celebrities were asked to support a charity that helps unemployed disadvantaged women get prepared for the job market at the recent Billboard Music Awards.

Bolzano handbags, who helped sponsor Backstage Creations Celebrity Retreat, introduced the stars to Dress for Success, an international not-for-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Bolzano pledged to donated 1 bag to Dress for Success for every bag gifted to the celebrities who visited them. The best part, every bag donated was personalized by a celeb with words of encouragement for each recipient. "Unemployment is a true concern, it breaks my heart to watch people talk about their reality today, this organization teaches women to fish …you know the saying ‘Give a man a fish and he eats for a day teach a man to fish and he can feed himself for life.’ " said Leylani Cardoso CEO of Bolzano Handbags.

Celebrities the likes of Ke$ha, apl.de.ap & Taboo from Black Eyed Peas, Travis Barker, Neil Diamond and Eric Stonestreet & Rico Rodriguez from Modern Family all personalized bags for the charity. Britney Spears was unable to attend because of her busy performance schedule at the show but made sure her assistant presented Bolzano with a card for the charity.

Since starting operations in 1997, Dress for Success has expanded to more than 110 cities in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, the UK and the West Indies. To date, Dress for Success has helped more than 600,000 women work towards self-sufficiency.
