An avid supporter of US troops and their families, Sinise was moved to action following the tragic shooting at the Navy Yard on Sept. 16.

The concert, co-sponsored by the USO and the Gary Sinise Foundation with generous support from American Airlines, featured the 12-member Lt. Dan Band playing high-energy renditions of big hits like Katy Perry’s “Roar,” The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” and Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September.” Tenor Danny Rodriguez, known as “The Singing Policeman,” also performed during the show, which took place at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.
