Variety - The Children's Charity, today announced that it has forged a new partnership with Silverstone (the Home of British Motor Racing), to create a very special day of Formula 1 (F1) racing, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Magic – featuring Dynamo and The John Illsley Band, on Friday 3rd July.

The day will start with breakfast at 8.00am, followed by Grand Prix practice racing before lunch. In the afternoon, Dynamo will entertain guests with a unique magic show and, as the evening approaches, John Illsley, founding member of Dire Straits, will bring the rock to the race by performing songs with his band, finishing the day in spectacular style.

All of the Rock ‘N’ Race action will take place at Silverstone in an exclusive section of The Drivers’ Lounge with stunning views from the world famous Stowe corner, through to Vale, from a private outdoor terrace and grandstand. The ‘new for 2015’ modern facility is dedicated to the thrill and excitement of F1. Ticket prices start at £350 and can be purchased from Variety’s website.

The event has been organised by the recently-founded Patrons of Variety, a group of high-net-worth individuals who support Variety, the Children’s Charity, in its work, providing positive experiences for disadvantaged or disabled children and young people across the UK. Each Patron personally pledges £30,000 over three years, to help provide vital funds, and this event aims to raise more money for the charity.

“The dedicated volunteers of Variety are masters at working a very real form of magic – conjuring crucial funds for the most worthy of recipients,” said Dynamo. “But these funds don’t appear out of thin air, which is why I continue to support Patrons of Variety. I can’t wait to perform on the day and I know that the backdrop of the world-famous Silverstone track will make the perfect location.”

Variety, the Children’s charity, is the oldest international children’s charity and has raised more than £267 million, to help children and young people throughout the country, who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged. Variety, the Children’s Charity, believes that neither disability nor disadvantage should prevent any child from reaching his or her full potential and its Patrons play an integral part in the realisation of this message.
