Jason Connery's new movie will help rebuild houses in New Orleans destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

Connery – the 45-year-old son of Sean Connery – has signed up to star in Glass Houses, a film produced by New Orleans native Jennifer Fontaine that tells the story of Vincent Campo, a detective forced to face a pedophile ex-priest while investigating the rape and murder of a transgender teen.

Locations in the film will consist largely of structures damaged by Hurricane Katrina and will receive extensive reconstruction or renovation during filming at the production company’s expense. Fontaine has also announced that a portion of the picture’s distribution proceeds will go to local reconstruction and mental health services for hurricane victims.

The movie is due to start filming in March, 2009.
