Bruno Mars has announced a massive donation to help those affected by the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.

The singer announced that he will be donating $1 million to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint during his sold-out concert in Detroit on Saturday.

“I’m very thankful to the Michigan audience for joining me in supporting this cause,” he said in a statement after making the announcement. “Ongoing challenges remain years later for Flint residents, and it’s important that we don’t forget our brothers and sisters affected by this disaster. As people, especially as Americans, we need to stand together to make sure something like this never happens in any community ever again.”

The city of Flint faces on-going problems after 100,000 residents were exposed to drinking water tainted with high levels of lead in 2014.
