Harry Potter star Emma Watson has added a new string to her bow, by helping design an exclusive clothing collection for People Tree.

People Tree combines 100% organic Fair Trade clothing with style. Watson’s collection contains pieces aimed towards both men and women, as well as bohemian style bed throws and jewellery.

Watson said of the collaboration: “I wanted to help People Tree create a younger range because I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could make a difference with.”

Emma – who’s just taken up a place at Brown University to study English Literature – admitted it had been ‘the most incredible gap year project’.

The collection was made entirely by Fair Trade groups in order to create livelihoods for workers in India, Bangladesh and Nepal – some of the most disadvantaged people in the world.

The range won’t be available until February 2010 but keep an eye on www.peopletreeyouth.co.uk for more news!
