World famous tenor, Placido Domingo, will touch down in Christchurch, New Zealand, this October to support two Christchurch charities hard-hit by the February earthquakes – Court Theatre and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

Placido Domingo has his own understanding of earthquakes through the loss of four family members in the 1985 Mexican earthquake and has been honoured in America for lifetime achievement in expanding the audience for opera and helping those less fortunate round the world.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 9am on Friday 19 August 2011.
