Most men are not abusive. But far too often, they are silent about the abuse committed by other men. This week, Mariska Hargitay's Joyful Heart Foundation, in conjunction with {charity:A Call to Men (ACTM) is releasing a new PSA campaign that highlights the importance of men’s role in speaking up and supporting survivors of sexual assault, abuse and harassment.

The PSA features notable actors Andre Braugher, Tate Donovan, Anthony Edwards, Raúl Esparza, Dann Florek, Peter Hermann, Max Joseph, Daniel Dae Kim, David Marciano, Chris Meloni, Danny Pino, Andrew Rannells, and Blair Underwood calling on other men to speak out against the violence and abuse that happens every single day in our country. The campaign, “#IWILLSPEAKUP,” magnifies the effect of men’s silence — silence that allows violence against women and girls to go unchecked and perpetuates it in our families, in our workplaces, on college campuses, in our military, and everywhere else.

The spots were co-produced by Viacom Velocity; directed by Joyful Heart’s founder and president, Mariska Hargitay; developed by creative director Rachel Howald from Invisible Man; edited by Jean Taylor at Wax; and will be distributed nationally by Boom Broadcast and Viacom.
