Ellen DeGeneres has launched a charity auction to benefit an organization that promotes the protection of all animals.

“Hey, I’m cleaning out my closet,” she said. “I’m auctioning off a bunch of clothes on eBay that I’ve worn on my show or to awards shows. Twenty-five items each week. If you’re the winning bidder, you could actually have the shirt that I wore when Chris Matthews groped me. Or, the outfit I wore when I won an Emmy. I’m even gonna ask celebrity guests to donate things too. I want you to have the shirt off my back…and it’s all for a great cause.”

All proceeds from the auction – which runs until May 8 – will go to The Humane Society, the largest and most effective animal protection organization in the US. Established in 1954, The HSUS seeks a humane and sustainable world for all animals—a world that will also benefit people. They are America’s mainstream force against cruelty, exploitation and neglect, as well as the most trusted voice extolling the human-animal bond.
