Rihanna celebrated her first concert in Israel by lending a helping hand.

The star ran a competition in which people had to participate in four hours of volunteer work in order to get tickets for Sunday’s show in Tel Aviv. Around 10,000 people took part in the initiative, including Rihanna herself – she helped paint a meeting center for the community on Saturday.

“It’s my first time in Israel and I’m thrilled,” she said. “This is a great experience for me.”
