Charity biography
Robert Redford has addressed environmental issues in documentaries and film for over 30 years.
He created the Sundance Institute for the discovery and development of independent artists, to bring together artists, scientists and policymakers to discuss solutions to climate change, and to air environmentally themed television programs.
In 2007, Time magazine named Redford a “Hero of the Environment.”
In 2009, Redford was awarded the Duke LEAF award for his contribution to environmental issues through fine arts.
