Brian McLaughlin and The Football Extravaganza committee are delighted to announce that HMV will return as the headline sponsor of the 18th HMV Football Extravaganza in aid of Nordoff Robbins, taking place on Tuesday 29 October 2013 at The Grosvenor House Hotel.

Brian McLaughlin, Chairman of The Football Extravaganza and Paul McGowan, Chief Executive of HMV owners Hilco Capital, have agreed a headline sponsorship for this fantastic event, which will see HMV make a return to the event it created 17 years ago.

At this year’s HMV Football Extravaganza, the Legend of Football Award will be presented to Pelé – arguably the greatest footballer of all time, a man who remains at the centre of the beautiful game, where he is universally recognised, respected and revered in every corner of the globe.

Starting his professional career at the age of 16 with Santos FC, a club he stayed with for nearly two decades, Pelé made his World Cup debut in 1958 when Brazil lifted the trophy and he became the youngest player ever to win The World Cup at the age of just 17. Pelé went on to win two further World Cups in 1962 and 1970 making him the only player in the world today with three Jules Rimet trophies to his name. Not only is he the all-time leading goalscorer for both Santos FC and Brazil, he is also the all-time leading scorer in the history of football with 1,283 goals in 1,366 matches.

Existing partners who continue to support and sponsor the event and Nordoff Robbins include PPL, The Premier League, Sports Interactive Games, Esprit UK, Universal Music, Warner Music and Sony Music UK, with more to be confirmed. The Patrons bench is equally impressive including Tony Adams, Sir Bobby Charlton, Alan Curbishley, Sir Alex Ferguson, Kenny Dalglish, Denis Law, Teddy Sheringham, Harry Redknapp, Eric Cantona, José Mourinho and Alan Shearer.

The next HMV Football Extravaganza will be held on Tuesday 29 October at The Grosvenor House Hotel. There are still some tables and sponsorship packages available from Rae@TheFE.co.uk, or call Rae on 07734 088464.
