Rover.com, the digital home dog boarding leader that connects dog owners with approved dog sitters, has announced a new partnership with the Ian Somerhalder Foundation (ISF).

With this partnership Rover is making a $5,000 donation to the foundation and ISF will be joining Rover’s Sit-a-Dog, Save-a-Life program.

Rover’s Sit-a-Dog, Save-a-Life program allows Rover sitters to easily donate a portion of their proceeds to partner animal rescues and shelters and has been part of Rover since the inception of the company. The program currently works with over 40 organizations nationwide and has more than 1,200 Rover sitters who donate on a monthly basis. To date the program has donated over $38,000. Additionally, for the month of December Rover is matching all sitter donations to their partners.

“We are excited to partner with Rover and thank them for donating to the foundation, uniting their voice with ours, and empowering us to create change,” said Ian Somerhalder, Co-Founder and President of ISF. “The real potential for quantifiable, worldwide change is reinforced when for-profit companies form collaborative and symbiotic relationships with non-profit entities.”

ISF was founded on the premise that there is no significant difference between plants, animals and humans, and that all living things are part of one independent organism. Their mission is to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and its creatures. Like Rover, they believe that all creatures deserve to be treated equal and are working with organizations and people to further this.

“ISF’s mission and moral standards align to our vision of creating a positive and safe world for animals and their well-being,” said Susan Koehler, Chief Marketing Officer of Rover. “By supporting ISF and their Animal Sanctuary we are continuing to find ways to make the world a better place so that all pets are in loving and trusted homes.”

In addition to Rover’s donation and ISF joining Rover’s Sit-a-Dog, Save-a-Life program, Rover is also offering ISF supporters a holiday gift of $25 off their first stay with a Rover sitter. Supporters can visit www.rover.com/isf and enter code ISF25.
