A New Way Of Life Re-Entry Project – an organization that provides housing and support services to formerly incarcerated women in South Central Los Angeles, facilitating a successful transition back to community life – will hold its 16th annual fundraising gala later this week.

The evening of recognition, celebration, and re-commitment to the power of possibilities will honor Eve Ensler with the Movement Builder Award. This award honors the effort of an individual who has dedicated years of service to supporting the work of A New Way Of Life and other organizations that are affecting change in the criminal justice system and the lives of those who are on the road to transformation.

Eve Ensler is the founder of V-Day, an initiative that has mobilized activists from more than 140 countries and worked tirelessly on a grassroots level to demand an end to all forms of violence against women and girls. In the face of resistance V-Day activists have raised consciousness, changed laws, funded rape crisis centers and domestic violence shelters (often keeping the doors open), educated their communities, and raised over $85 million for groups doing the essential work of ending violence and serving survivors.

The event takes place on Sunday, December 7, at Omni Los Angeles Hotel. More info can be found here.
