Jerry Lewis, founder of Legionnaires of Laughter and co-founder of Jerry’s House announced today the inaugural dinner to celebrate the life and work of Robin Williams at Cipriani, 55 Wall Street, NYC on June 19th 2017.

The Legionnaires of Laughter Award’s evening is the first of its kind, and establishes fundraising initiatives to support Jerry Lewis’ new charity Jerry’s House.

Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood host the star-studded event.

Jerry Lewis, “The Legionnaires of Laughter is my way of acknowledging my colleagues in comedy and giving them the recognition that their art deserves. On this night, we will celebrate our dear friend Robin Williams, a truly unique talent and raise awareness of the Healing Power of Laughter.”

Legionnaires of Laughter recognize the invaluable contribution made by comedians, comedic actors/entertainers and the immense value that laughter brings to society. The 2017 gala charity event lays the groundwork for an annual award’s celebration.

Mr. Lewis states, "the Legionnaires of Laughter Lifetime Achievement Award will become the “Oscar of Comedy.”

Prominent members from the global community in politics, entertainment, business and sport have been invited by Jerry Lewis to honor Robin Williams and support bettering the lives of sick children around the world.
