Action star Jackie Chan was in Singapore last week to launch Segway’s Go Green initiative.

Segways are two-wheeled, self-balancing electric vehicles invented by Dean Kamen in 2001. Their environmental benefits are widely acclaimed, and the Segway Go Green initiative is all about creating a sustainable mobility solution in line with the aim of reducing global carbon emissions.

Chan spent a day with his Segway partner Matt McGuire last week and hopes that the Segway PT will be used widely in Singapore as a pollution-free mode of transportation.

Based in Sentosa, Singapore’s Segway Go Green initiative offers guided eco-adventures and fun rides. Chan is part-owner of the Segway dealership in the country, and hopes the machine will offset some of Asia’s high pollution.
