Former Savage Garden singer, Darren Hayes, granted a wish of a lifetime to an American woman in London.

Serena suffers from thyroid cancer, and thanks to the UK Make-A-Wish Foundation, she got to meet her musical idol at the Ritz in London.

“It was so inspiring meeting Serena and her family,” said Hayes. “She has such a positive spark and her family’s sense of humor was infectious. It’s wonderful to be a small part of their celebration of life. Please donate and support this amazing charity.”

The pair chatted in private during the meeting, and Hayes presented Serena with a special gift. He had even read Serena’s blog before their meeting, so he was up to speed on all her interests and hobbies.

“It was an amazing experience,” said Serena. “Darren is just an absolutely lovely person. I want to thank everyone involved in making this happen. I believe in miracles and a miracle has happened today.”
