Golden Girls star Betty White has received a lifetime achievement award from the Morris Animal Foundation for her tireless efforts in support of animal welfare.

“I can’t tell you what a special day this was,” White told ETOline.com, “I’m the luckiest old broad on two feet because my life is divided into two halves: Half animals and half show business, the two things I love the most.”

In honor of White’s continued support of the charity, American company P&G Pet Care donated $10,000 (£6,250) to the American Veterinary Medical Foundation.
