Grammy Award-winning rapper T.I. and his wife Tameka Cottle have launched a new foundation aimed at fighting Alzheimer’s Disease.

The couple held a dinner party to launch For The Love Of Our Fathers, which was inspired by their fathers’ personal battles with Alzheimer’s.

In an interview, T.I. spoke of their inspiration. “It’s very, very personally close to our family and while I was, you know, while I was going through my … period of hiatus, Tameka had the idea of … starting this foundation. And I thought it was an outstanding idea”

Cottle’s father suffers from the neurological disorder which currently has no cure and the effects of which are irreversible.

“The name comes from the fact that my father Charles Pope suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and Clifford’s father, Clifford Harris, Sr., died from it”, said Cottle, “Having to deal with a loved one who suffers from this disease made it hard for me and my family, so we formed this foundation to help others that are in the same situation…Support is what’s needed to make this world a better place.”
