It’s been said that green is the new black… and this Earth Day, actor and singer Matthew Morrison of TVs “Glee” will prove that concept true.

On Friday, April 22, Morrison will introduce the “DASANI Plant Model Fashion Show” where a septet of “Plant Models” will show off the hottest fashions in foliage. The event celebrates the new DASANI PlantBottle packaging, made with up to 30 percent plants. In honor of this new, earth friendlier packaging, each model’s couture will cover up to 30 percent of her body.

The collection will feature seven original concepts created by designer Yotam Solomon, who was named LA designer of the year by AOL Stylelist. Solomon hand-crafted each statement piece using only plant materials, and each dress will be constructed on site.

The DASANI “Plant Model Fashion Show” marks the national launch of the all-new DASANI PlantBottle packaging. Made of up to 30 percent plant-based materials, the PET bottle is 100 percent recyclable. In 2009, PlantBottle packaging was launched in the western U.S. and eight other global markets. To date, it is already estimated to have eliminated the equivalent of 30,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide, or three million gallons of gasoline used to produce traditional PET plastic bottles. Look for the new packaging with the green cap on shelves now.

The fashion event takes place at The Grove LA Fountain Area, 189 The Grove Drive at 11am.
