Veteran actress Tippi Hedren received a special lifetime achievement award from her daughter, Melanie Griffith, for her work raising awareness of the exotic pet trade.

The big winners of the night were the films Up, Hotel For Dogs and The Cove. Also picking up awards were an episode of Family Guy that featured animal exploitation issues, and an episode of Bones.
