American footballer, Jarvis Green has been playing the game since he was in high school in Louisiana. At 32, he has been playing since he was in the 7th grade. On leaving high-school he played on the Louisiana State University team and on leaving was drafted by the New England Patriots. From this point on, he has played continuously for teams such as the Denver Broncos and the Houston Texans. He also runs a constuction company with long-standing friend Nathian Hossley, supported by his major in construction engineering.
Despite this busy career, after Hurricane Katrina, he used his celebrity to set up the Jarvis Green Foundation, which aims to help disadvantaged, single working mothers in Louisiana, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
He has said that the best thing about his high profile is ‘that I’m in a position to be able to do some good.’ As the child of a single, working mother, Jarivs knows first hand the problems it can cause.
