Marking a new direction for City Hearts fundraising efforts, last year’s photography event was such a roaring success that the organization, now in its 28th year, has decided to expand on that idea with “Fresh Focus: Talent Recognizes Talent” bringing in bigger names from the intersecting fields of photography and celebrity.

This year’s benefit auction, to be held on October 19, 2013, 3pm – 5:30pm, with a VIP After-Party from 6-8pm, will showcase the work/s of some of the biggest names in the photo biz including: Vivian Maier, Anthony Friedkin, Sam Jones, Mike Powell, John C. Lewis, Chris Rainier, Kim Gottlieb-Walker, to name a few, alongside A-list celebrities to be included in this rarefied arena such as: Barbra Streisand, Jessica Lange, Jeff Bridges, Jane Seymour (City Hearts’ National Honorary Chair), Walton Goggins, Graham Nash, Henry Winkler and more.

The event will take place at the historic Old Topanga Ranch in Topanga, CA, once home to Neil Young and the myriad of artists who recorded there. Three well-known chefs from Sam’s By the Beach, Pedalers Fork, and Topanga Catering will provide a delectable array of food with wine from “Girl Meets Grape” and, in keeping with the spirit of the season, specialty fall cocktails from the new Los Angeles based EVOL Spirits. In addition to the main event, there will be a raffle and online auction. Entertainment will be provided by KCSN’s own Nic Harcourt during the auction and special musical guest, The Bluegrass Buddies, will bring the house down at the VIP dinner /after-party in the barn of this exquisite property. Individual tickets are $55.00 and VIP tix, which include parking, souvenir catalog and after-party admission are $100.

The prestigious Santa Monica based Duncan Miller Gallery will offer “Daily Photographs” to their worldwide collector base to generate pre event sales and foster further awareness for the event. For more info go to: www.yourdailyphotograph.com.

This event will raise funds to support City Hearts’ vital efforts to nurture, inspire, and transform the lives of hundreds of children in the most economically challenged areas of Los Angeles County. Images by students who are ‘young Artists’ will also be on exhibit. City Hearts’ fundraiser celebrates the outstanding success of City Hearts photography program: FRESH FOCUS: A NEW SHOT AT LIFE.
