On Tuesday, May 24, 2016, Jack Black, Nick Cannon, Mark Cuban, Brian Austin Green, Pete Wentz, Clark Gregg and Jason George were among the stars who got suited up to co-star with heroic Miracle Kids in a Superhero themed PSA shoot to benefit patients at Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

The Miracle Kids created their own superhero identities with custom super powers and the super villains who they would face off against. Writers, producers and directors Amy and Scott Malin helped the Miracle Kids create an entire superhero universe based in Miracle City, complete with superheroes, sidekicks and super villains. An incredible group of celebrities answered the call to co-star with the Miracle Kids in original comedic superhero movie scenes.

The highly anticipated superhero PSAs are part of the charity’s “Put Your Money Where The Miracles Are” campaign and may be viewed at cmnh.co/superheroesforkids. They will inspire superhero fans of all ages to support the life-saving treatments, equipment, research and charity care provided by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at 170 children’s hospitals across North America.

Mitochondrial disease patient Nathan Ferrell, also known as his superhero alter ego Nate-O, called on his sidekick Solar Boy, played by actor Brian Austin Green, to help him fight his arch nemesis Mito-Man, played by “Grey’s Anatomy” star Jason George. Mito-Man captured Nate-O’s superhero ally Mr. Boom, played by “America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon and was planning to wreak havoc on Miracle City.

Brain cancer survivor Jessica Meyer, or Cancer Crusher, outsmarted the evil Riddle Masters played by “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” star Brett Dalton and social media star Manon Mathews. Then she sought council from superhero guru Jade Master played by actor, comedian and musician Jack Black on how to defeat her arch nemesis Toxic Tumor played by “Scrubs” star Donald Faison.

Congenital scoliosis patient Shemar Williams, or Super Shemdog, put superhero recruits and real life basketball players Denzel Valentine, Domas Sabonis and Georges Niang through their paces in “Superhero Combine.” Super Shemdog also teamed up with The Mist, played by pop star, Radio Disney host and CMN Hospitals teen ambassador Alli Simpson, to defeat Super Shemdog’s arch nemesis, the Yellow Lantern.

Kidney transplant survivor Angelica Hale, or Solar Singer, co-starred with Super Shemdog in a hilarious spot with billionaire “Shark Tank” investor and owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, where he tried to convince the Miracle Kids to invest in his new business. “Workaholics” creators and co-stars Adam DeVine and Anders Holm starred as eager superheroes Crop Duster and Snail Man and begged Solar Singer to send them out on an important mission. Solar Singer teamed up with The Breeze, played by "Deadpool’ star Brianna Hildebrand to send a high note hurricane package to the evil Devie Devil.

“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” star Clark Gregg starred as Very Great Sir opposite Miss Super Awesomeness (played by Miracle Kid Michael Shay), Super Austin (played by Miracle Kid Austin Shay), The War Ender (played by Miracle Kid Riley Shay) and Super Rose (played by Miracle Kid Caden Shay) in a funny spot about this superhero crew’s adorable methods for seeking justice.

GRAMMY award winner Pete Wentz, from the rock group Fall Out Boy, suited up to play superhero and musician Red Shred opposite his Miracle Kid co-stars Maverick Schutte as Ultimate Maverick and Asher Hatch as Orca Man. Maverick and Asher also co-starred opposite motivational speaker, author and Paralympic skier Josh Sundquist in a hilarious spot called “Super Agent.” Miracle Kids and brothers Max and Els Page suited up as their superhero alter egos Max Man and Super E opposite “The Office” star Oscar Nunez and “Underground” star Aldis Hodge.

Social media star David Dobrik starred opposite Dazzler (Miracle Kid Eileen Garrido) and Wire (Miracle Kid Logan Hansen) in a fun PSA called “News Update.” Extra Life gamers AvalonStar, The No. 1 Alex and Crono starred opposite Wire (Miracle Kid Logan Hansen) in a spot to promote Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ upcoming game-a-thon in November 2016.

Celebrities and Miracle Kids were able to customize their own superhero, sidekick and super villain costumes in the Wardrobe Suite. Teams from Paul Mitchell Schools and CAO Cosmetics made sure our superheroes and super villains looked convincing.

Miracle City’s superheroes and super villains relaxed in the Superhero Lounge where they enjoyed hot chocolate and coffee from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, an organic juice bar by Suja, healthy and delectable desserts by Hail Merry and delicious cotton candy by Love Swirls. Guests were treated to a gourmet lunch and hydration was powered by AQUAHyrdate. Everyone designed their own superhero masks and cuffs, created their own superhero comic book and had their superhero names tagged by a professional graffiti artist. Superheroes also took home portraits created by a professional caricature artist.

“The 10 million kids treated at our member hospitals each year are battling serious illnesses and injuries, much like the superheroes and sidekicks in these stories are battling super villains,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “We’re grateful for the generous support of everyday heroes — both on screen and off — who help children’s hospitals provide the vital care necessary for deserving kids across North America.”
