The 15th Annual UCP of NYC Golf Tournament will be held at Brae Burn Country Club in Purchase, New York on Monday, September 19, 2016.

This annual tournament attracts over 250 golfers for a uniquely enjoyable day of golf and entertainment in support of United Cerebral Palsy of New York City. All proceeds from the event fund the delivery of life-affirming programs and services to children and adults with disabilities and their families.

The golf tournament will be co-hosted by Teresa Priolo, three-time Emmy-nominated reporter, Fox 5 News & Good Day New York, and Erika Wachter, sports host and reporter for Fox 5 News.

“Over the past few years Teresa Priolo has been dedicated to helping UCP of NYC raise awareness about the many programs and services we offer,” says Edward R. Matthews, CEO, United Cerebral Palsy of New York City. “We are also excited to welcome Erika Wachter in her first year as co-host.”

This year, for the first time, the event will include a presentation of a UCP of NYC Corporate Champion Award, which will be presented to one of UCP of NYC’s generous supporters, Michael Berger, Senior Managing Director of Colliers International. This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate the power to inspire and lead as role models for people with and without disabilities.

Mr. Berger joined Colliers in 1995 when it operated as GVA Williams. A real estate industry veteran, Mr. Berger, who specializes in leasing and sales of commercial properties, led the completion of one of the largest nonprofit transactions of 2016; a 30-year, 218,000 square-foot lease on behalf of UCP of NYC for the entire building at 80 West End Avenue. He has extensive landlord agency experience and is currently the leasing agent for several office buildings totaling over three million square feet in NYC. As a tenant representative, Mr. Berger has worked with many corporations with a proven track record of success. He is involved in numerous community organizations and currently serves on the Executive Board of Trustees at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns, among others.

The 15th Annual Golf Tournament is presented by the Carmel family. Other generous sponsors include Colliers International, Alliance, Avison Young, Staples, Baker Tilley Virchow Krause, LLP, Stop Pest Control, HOK, Weiss Group, Driscoll Foods, among others.

Teresa Priolo is a three-time Emmy-nominated reporter and fill-in anchor on Fox 5 News, and its top-rated morning show, Good Day New York. Teresa joined Fox 5 in March of 2012. She has covered Superstorm Sandy, the tragedy in Newtown, Super Bowl XLVIII, and Pope Francis’s recent visit to New York City. Prior to Fox, throughout the past decade, Teresa has worked as a reporter and morning anchor in upstate New York – covering everything from politics at the state Capitol to the annual Saratoga racing season. She began her on-air career in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Her investigations into the problem of teen homelessness, which the system has dubbed as “Throwaways”, and the popular but deadly “choking game”, earned her awards from the Idaho Press Club and acknowledgement from the Society of Professional Journalists. Prior to working in TV news, she worked on the ABC reality series Wife Swap.

United Cerebral Palsy of New York City holds a special place in her heart. She is the third of four children and her late brother, Tony, lived with Cerebral Palsy until he passed away 13 years ago. Teresa co-hosted the 2015 UCP of NYC Golf Tournament and was Co-Chair of the 2015 Santa Project Party benefiting the Children’s Program of UCP of NYC. This May, Teresa was a celebrity presenter along with Fox 5 Good Day New York’s Mike Woods at the 15th Annual Women Who Care Awards benefitting UCP of NYC.

She was honored as Woman of the Year by the New Jersey Italian American Police society.

Erika Wachter is a sports host and reporter for Fox 5 News. She has worked with a variety of clients including CPTV Sports, COX Sports, NESN, Verizon FiOS1 Sports, Birdseye Sports, and MiLB’s Connecticut Tigers. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, with a major in Broadcast Journalism and a double minor in Marketing Management and Psychology.

Erika was also a Division 1 Varsity Field Hockey player at SU for her entire undergraduate career.
