PETA has teamed up with chart-topping superstar D.R.A.M. for a never-before-seen “outtake” from the music video for his Grammy-nominated song, “Broccoli” — and it brings a whole new meaning to the word “greenery.”

In the video, the rapper brags to his friends about the bounty of “broccoli” that he’s picked up, but confusion quickly ensues when he presents a large platter of the stuff.

“There’s nothing healthier than an abundance of greenery—green leafy vegetables, that is,” says PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange. “PETA hopes D.R.A.M. inspires people everywhere to start steaming up that broccoli — and that kale, chard, and spinach, too.”

PETA — whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” — notes that vegan meals are free of saturated animal fat and cholesterol and spare animals immense suffering in today’s industrialized meat, egg, and dairy industries. And speaking of green, vegan foods boast a low carbon footprint compared to meat, which comes from an industry that’s responsible for a staggering amount of greenhouse-gas emissions.

D.R.A.M. joins a growing list of celebrities — including Waka Flocka Flame, Kid Ink, RZA, Casey Affleck, P!nk, and Russell Simmons — who have teamed up with PETA to promote healthy and humane meat-free meals.
