Singer songwriter Jackson Browne announces a benefit concert on Sunday, August 13th at the Copernicus Center in Chicago, IL to support Veterans For Peace (VFP).

Showtime is 7:30 PM. The concert is scheduled for the final day of the Veterans For Peace 32nd Annual Convention. Accompanying Jackson Browne at the benefit concert is long time band mate and multi-instrumentalist Greg Leisz. All net proceeds raised from the benefit concert will support Veterans For Peace.

Reserved seats ($52 / $77 / $102) go on sale Friday, June 16th at 10:00am and can be purchased online through Ticketfly.com. The Copernicus Center is located on the northwest side of Chicago at 5216 West Lawrence Avenue, between Milwaukee Avenue and the Kennedy Expressway. The venue is walking distance from Jefferson Park’s Blue Line and Metra train stops.

“Veterans For Peace is honored and thrilled to have singer, songwriter, activist for social justice, and member of the Veterans For Peace Advisory Board, Jackson Browne, perform a concert for Veterans For Peace in conjunction with our 32nd Annual Convention,” says VFP president Barry Ladendorf. “Music is, and always has been a critically important part of societal change.”

Veterans For Peace (VFP) is a global organization of Military Veterans and allies whose collective efforts are to build a culture of peace by using their experiences and lifting their voices. VFP informs the public of the true causes of war and the enormous costs of wars, with an obligation to heal the wounds of wars. The VFP network is comprised of over 140 chapters worldwide whose work includes: educating the public, advocating for a dismantling of the war economy, providing services that assist veterans and victims of war, and most significantly, working to end all wars.

“I want to add my voice to those of Veterans For Peace in calling for the dismantling our war for profit economy, and working to end all wars,” says Jackson Browne. “I recommend reading their position statement in response to the Trump Military budget. We need to follow VFP’s courageous and principled example in calling for an end to our country’s insane and inhumane military expansion.”
