Critically Acclaimed singer-songwriter, fashion designer, actress and TV star Rita Ora will perform an exclusive live half time set at Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2019 at Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge Stadium in London on Sunday 16th June, broadcast exclusively on ITV and STV.

The global superstar has also been named a Unicef UK Ambassador, it was announced today. Having supported Unicef UK since 2013, when she featured in the charity’s ‘No Place Like Home’ video to help raise awareness of the refugee crisis in Syria, Rita has supported numerous campaigns and performed at celebrated Unicef events including the Halloween Ball, Match for Children and the UNICEF Summer Gala in Italy.

Rita also recently travelled to her native Kosovo earlier this year in support of the Soccer Aid for Unicef campaign to see how Unicef programmes are improving child health, childhood development and education in marginalised communities.

Rita made the surprise visit to more than 400 children and young people at the Activate event in the capital Prishtina, UNICEF Kosovo’s annual event which promotes innovative initiatives developed by young people involved in UPSHIFT. The programme provides training, financing and mentorship opportunities to young people to launch their own projects designed to help their communities.

Unicef is privileged to have a long history of support from its ambassadors and high profile celebrity supporters who are committed to improving the lives of children around the world, ranging from influential names as Audrey Hepburn to David Beckham.

Rita Ora said: "I’m beyond honoured to be appointed a Unicef UK Ambassador. Since 2013, I have learnt a great deal about Unicef and the amazing work they do to drive positive change for the children of our future. My recent trip to Kosovo allowed me to see Unicef’s wonderful work first hand back in my native country, and I am more determined than ever to utilise my position to support, campaign and advocate.

It’s also incredible to be performing at Soccer Aid for Unicef this year. This year’s event will no doubt be bigger and better than ever before and to be able to play right in the middle of Stamfrod Bridge at half-time is brilliant. It’s going to be an amazing match – get your tickets now!"

The film from Rita’s visit to Kosovo with Unicef will be shown on the night of Soccer Aid for Unicef on ITV.

This year’s Soccer Aid for Unicef match returns to London for the first time in over a decade, taking place at the iconic Stamford Bridge Stadium. The game will see two teams of celebrities and ex-professionals go head-to-head on Sunday 16th June live on ITV and STV.

Names signed up for the England squad so far include legends Michael Owen, Joe Cole, and – for the first time ever – female players Katie Chapman and Rachel Yankey, and celebrities Sir Mo Farah, Mark Wright, and Danny Jones, all under the watchful eye of co-managers Susanna Reid and Sam Allardyce.

Taking them on are the Soccer Aid World XI, with players so far announced including legends Didier Drogba, Eric Cantona, and Robert Pires, and stars Usain Bolt, Niall Horan, and Martin Compston, taking their orders from Harry Redknapp and Piers Morgan.

Soccer Aid for Unicef is defending play for every child. The monies raised will go towards Unicef’s vital work protecting children in danger around the world. £30 million has already been raised by Soccer Aid for Unicef since its inception in 2006.
