Celebrities Patricia Arquette and Balthazar Getty have launched a new charity initiative to provide homes to those in need in Haiti.

Along with Getty’s wife, Rosetta Millington, the pair have launched the Give Love Foundation, which plans to construct 50 container homes for 400 homeless people over the next 2 years.

“We have secured some land down in Haiti and we’re building houses out of shipping containers that are weatherproof,” said Getty. "You can donate and help us build homes for these people who really need our help right now.

“The big problem now is the hurricane season that’s coming and the rain season that’s coming and the fact that these people are just set up in these makeshift tents [made] out of sticks and wood and tape, and this stuff can’t withstand the weather.”

The Foundation also plans to develop ecologically sound sanitation, hygiene and composting systems for all those who live in the homes, as well as provide safe drinking water.
