Sugar Ray Leonard was in New Zealand this weekend for a special charity event as part of Queenstown’s Winter Festival.

The boxing legend braved the snow to attend the Festival’s charity boxing tournament, which raised NZ$75,000 for the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation.

“It’s great to be able to put your name to an event like this and lend that little bit of celebrity power to something that does so much for a charitable cause,” said Leonard, who was in the southern city for less than 24 hours.

The boxing event saw a number of New Zealand celebrities and local business owners battle it out in the ring for charity.
