Mandy Moore will join malaria experts from the United Nations Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign and PSI (Population Services International) for a “Town Hall” on malaria in Africa, broadcast live on Facebook today.

Moore, who has seen the effects of malaria firsthand while delivering bed nets in South Sudan, will make an emergency call to action to cover the Central African Republic with life-saving bed nets.

The United Nations has identified an urgent need for anti-malaria bed nets in the Central African Republic. Mandy Moore, PSI, and the UN Foundation’s Nothing But Nets are raising awareness to fill this critical gap and get a net to every family who needs one by the end of this year. Malaria is endemic throughout the Central African Republic year-round and is a leading killer of children under the age of five.

The live chat takes place today, Thursday August 12 at 2pm EST, and can be accessed via Nothing But Nets Facebook or the United Nations Foundation Facebook.
